President and Director Charlie Takeuchi quoted in a Newsweek article about Japan’s hidden champions

Hitachi Industrial Equipment Systems (HIES) President and Director Yasuhiro (Charlie) Takeuchi is quoted in an article in the December 23, 2022, edition of Newsweek International. The article, appearing on pages 42-43, is titled ‘Japan’s hidden champions reign supreme.’
The article, which also features CEOs from KEYENCE Corporation, Mabuchi Motor Co. Ltd. and Sojitz Corporation, discusses how many Japanese manufacturers have maintained large global market shares in B2B despite growing competition from the likes of China, South Korea and Southeast Asia. The ‘hidden champions,’ including HIES, produce high-quality parts, materials and machinery often working behind the scenes in industrial facilities worldwide.
